The announcement from the AquaX site is as follows:

Industry leading PWC manufacturer BRP Sea-Doo announced this week they are committed to continuing their support for P1 AquaX USA.

As one of the market leaders in recreational PWC’s for more than 25 years, Sea-Doo continues to support competitive PWC racing, and were first on the scene to support AquaX USA in it’s inaugural season in 2013.

As well as partnering AquaX USA, Sea-Doo will continue to support all professional racers within the PWC race industry with their X-TEAM Bounty funds for both event and Championship winners. A program offered to all racers in any USA Championship riding a Sea-Doo.

BRP’s Sea-Doo Brand Manager, Adrien De Alexandris commented “BRP fully supports the P1 AquaX concept, and providing competitors with a unique watercraft racing experience with a low barrier of entry. BRP provides more support to watercraft race promoters than any other company in the PWC industry through the Sea-Doo X-TEAM racer contingency.”

BRP believes in providing as many opportunities to enjoy ride Sea-Doo watercraft as possible. Adrien said “We have supported P1 AquaX US since day one as we see the series as the perfect avenue for new racers to enter the sport in a relatively easy in an affordable manner.”

Last year’s AquaX 300 Class Champion Kevin Wassum a Sea-Doo rider commented “I’m very excited to be competing on the Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 again this year in the AquaX USA series. It’s an amazing machine and still by far the best looking watercraft on the water. “

Kevin said “I’m also very excited to be riding for the X-Team and a manufacturer that cares so much about supporting these types of events and working hard to bring new riders into the sport. Sea-Doo’s presence has been seen and felt since the first race in Daytona last season and it very cool to see them continue their support as this race series continues to grow.”

Kevin is looking forward to 2014 and about the forthcoming start he said “This season I shall be focusing more on riding aggressively during the individual races as apposed to a more cautious riding style that was necessary to secure the season championship last year. I can’t wait for Daytona in April.”

BRP is adding a utility vehicle to its Sea-Doo line-up with the SAR model, a Search and Rescue watercraft designed for emergency response operations. It will be unveiled during the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana, from April 10-12, 2014

“We are pleased to introduce a utility vehicle dedicated to professionals whose job is to save lives,” said Yves Leduc, vice-president and general manager for BRP’s North America division.

“Our engineers worked closely with end users to make sure the SAR watercraft answer their needs. Each and every group who tested it are eager to add it to their water rescue fleet,” he added.

The Sea-Doo SAR watercraft combines the features rescue professionals need to respond to life-threatening situations. It is designed for everything from surf and white water to flood and other emergency situations. The sponsons and running boards add the stability and buoyancy needed in surf and white water; the heavy-duty front bumper and elastomer hull coating are adapted to navigation along rocky coasts; and features such as the anti-debris water intake grate, the stainless steel wear ring, and the internal heat exchanger with shock-protected cooling system, improve shallow-water capabilities.

“At the Chambly Fire Department, we wanted to minimize the risk of injury to our water rescue team while improving the performance of our watercraft. We worked with BRP engineers at developing a safe, robust yet powerful and nimble SAR watercraft, one tailored to our needs,” said Nicolas Drapeau, Deputy Fire Chief.
