BRP invented the performance watercraft in 1991 and continues to lead the industry today. In 2014, BRP offers the strongest and most complete Performance watercraft lineup in the industry. The Performance family continues to be the watercraft of choice of performance enthusiasts and professional riders. Professional riders dominated 2012 and 2013 on these models by winning four consecutive IJSBA world championships.

Sea-Doo Performance watercraft are ideal for riders in search of power, acceleration, the ultimate adrenaline rush and a watercraft that empowers them to ride like a pro. The Performance family offers the best power and acceleration of the Sea-Doo lineup, with stunning design and cutting-edge technology. Watercraft in this category provide unmatched performance in moderate to rough water conditions, in open water or buoy courses and include race-inspired features such as high-performance Variable Trim System (VTS,) adjustable sponsons, a specialized seat and race-inspired handlebars*.

The 2014 Sea-Doo Performance lineup includes five models led by the RXP-X 260, model that changed the definition of watercraft in this family with the T3 hull and Ergolock system, empowering riders to ride like pros with less effort. It also includes the Sea-Doo RXT-X aS 260, RXT-X 260 and RXT 260 models as well as the popular, entry-level performance watercraft, the GTR 215 model. In 2014, the Performance models including the X-Packages’ debut in all-new Viper Red coloration.

In a class by itself, BRP’s Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 watercraft became the new standard in the high-performance arena by winning both the 2011 & 2012 IJSBA Pro Open & GP racing World Championships, and the European tour Pro Stock and GP Championships in 2012 and continued this trend in 2013. The RXP-X 260 model was also the recipient of the prestigious National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award, the Red Dot Design Award, and was named 2012 “PWC of the Year” by PWCToday.com.

The 2014 Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 model is the ideal watercraft for closed course racers and performance enthusiasts. It continues to build its performance legacy with a new Viper Red color, ominous visual appeal, ingenious hull design and ergonomics that allow riders to realize 100% of their riding potential. The T3 hull design allows the RXP-X 260 model to aggressively lean into corners and penetrate chop better than any of its two-seater counterparts. T3 stands for “tight-turning t-hull” and uses an advanced, dual surface hull design with a unique combination of soft and hard chines, dual axis adjustable rear sponsons and performance trim tabs. This allows the rider to lean further into corners, turning tighter and faster, leaving the competition’s two-seaters in its wake.

The revolutionary Ergolock system integrates a narrowing, body-molded racing seat, Adjustable Ergonomic Steering (A.E.S.) system and angled footwell wedges, all complementing the lean-in characteristics. With the A.E.S. system, the rider can adjust the handlebar width and grip angle for a perfect upper body connection. The unique RXP-X 260 seat form-fits the rider’s legs, alleviating upper body strain in hard turns, using the leg muscles to lock the rider into the machine, and ultimately the water, better than any other two-seater.

BRP’s Intelligent Brake and Reverse (iBR) and Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC) systems complete the picture and make the 2014 RXP-X 260 the most feature- and technology-rich two-seater in high-performance watercraft history.

Valcourt, Québec  – For a decade, BRP’s design and innovation (D&I) team has consistently won design awards from globally recognised design institutions. This year the company received two red dot awards and three Good Design awards.

The Red Dot Design Awards is a prestigious international design competition based in Germany. More than 1,800 manufacturers and designers from 58 countries submitted a total of 4,515 product designs to this year’s competition. BRP’s Can-Am Outlander ATV and Sea-Doo RXP-X won in the transportation category. These awards bring BRP’s total to 14 Red Dot awards since 2005.

The historic Good Design awards, the oldest and most important award program worldwide, are hosted by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. Thousands of manufacturers from 38 countries submitted their products. BRP took home three Good Design awards this year for the Sea-Doo GTI 130 PWC, the Can-Am Commander side-by-side vehicle and the Ski-Doo Skandic Tundra LT ACE 600 snowmobile. These wins now brig BRP’s total to six Good Design awards.

To add to this recognition, the D&I team designed and developed, for the second year in a row, the F1 Grand Prix du Canada trophies. BRP’s design team was selected last year to develop the model.

“Our products are renowned worldwide for their design and innovation,” said Denys Lapointe, executive vice-president, Design & Innovation. “Our group has garnered more than 35 international design awards. Being recognised by the International design community brings an enormous amount of pride to all designers at BRP”.
