Sea-Doo personal watercraft have four entirely different types of hulls. Yes, four. And, each one offers a different type of riding experience so that you get the best type of ride for your style.

Sea-Doo-GTI-Hull

GTI HULL
Let’s start with the GTI hull. Our GTI hulls are playful, stable and predictable. They provide riders that need a more forgiving watercraft, but still have versatility for glassy and moderate water conditions. The hull rides higher on the water surface so that you get that nimbleness that make watercraft a blast and it planes quickly. With multiple passengers, the extended width has been shown to be the most stable ride. How can you point this hull out?

GTI HullThe GTI hull has a flatter V (16-degree deadrise) and is shorter with a low center of gravity. It is also a three-seater, which means it has tow sport capabilities! This hull makes for ideal rides on all of Sea-Doo’s GTI / recreation models as well as the WAKE 155 for wakeskating & wakeboarding and the GTR 215 for performance rides. A recent win from Eric Lagopolous at AquaX in St. Cloud on his Sea-Doo GTR 215 shows just how versatile this hull truly is.

GTX-S3-HullS3 HULL
Always innovating, we didn’t stop with the unique performance of the GTI hull. Our team of designers developed the S3 hull for a Stepped, Stable and Strong ride. Sea-Doo S3 Hull Stepped Design

These hulls are made from a lightweight material, and the stepped style creates a low-pressure zone to reduce drag and create nimble handling.  The S3 hull cuts through the water and leans naturally when cornering; it’s really all about comfort. For riders looking to take an extended journey, this hull reigns supreme as it bridges and cuts chop better.

Sea-Doo S3 Hull You can differentiate the S3 hull by it long, deep V shape (23-degree deadrise) and suspension option. It also comes as a three-seater with towsports capabilities. The S3 is the platform for all of the Sea-Doo GTX / Luxury models (we mentioned comfort, didn’t we?), the WAKE Pro 215, and the RXT models for better offshore performance.

RXP-T3-HullT3 HULL
The revolutionary T3 hull was another design success. For performance enthusiasts, this hull is the cream of the crop. It provides aggressive lean-in turning characteristics. And, it penetrates through chop and rough water conditions better than any of its predecessors. T3 stands for Tight-Turning T-hull and uses an advanced dual surface hull design.

Exclusive T3 Hull

A unique combination of soft and hard chines engages the water with a suction-like force when leaning into a corner. These combined features allow the rider to turn tighter and faster. The T3 hull has great stability at idle and low speeds, unmatched acceleration, and a narrow high-speed running surface that helps the RXP-X track though chop better. It delivers an agile and highly precise driving experience ideal for enthusiasts craving a superior race-oriented watercraft. Complimenting the T3 hull is the Ergolock system that offers the rider greater control and confidence as it focusses on connecting the rider better with he lower body minimizing upper body fatigue. The T3 hull design can only be found on the two-seater RXP-X 260.

SPARK HULL

The SPARK hull design objective was based on bringing back the simple fun and heritage of early day Sea-Doo models. The Sea-Doo X4 hull was one of the all-time best selling hull styles and this hull was used as the basis for the SPARK. This V-hull includes a latter center running surface and two sets of hard chines on either side of the keel to provide precise handling while being nimble and playful.

2014 SEA-DOO SPARK 2UP_STUDIO PROFILE PINEAPPLEThe hull features three new design effects that provide a better overall rider experience. Additional volume was added both to the bow and to the rear gunnels to provide extra buoyancy and stability. Plus the reshaped bow design helps deflect water down providing a dryer ride. Available in both 2up and 3up versions, the 3up option includes the addition of a modular hull extension to raise capacity 100 pounds and providing a more stable platform for tow sports.

2014 SEA-DOO SPARK_LIFESTYLE4SmallThe innovation doesn’t end there as one of the many value propositions of the SPARK is accessibility and fun. Keeping the power-to-weight ratio strong includes keeping the SPARK light weight and the new, exclusive Polytec material provides a lightweight hull while maintaining ruggedness and durability. Weighing in at nearly half the weight of full-sized watercraft, the SPARK is easy to move both on-water and off making it easy to tow with even the smallest sedans.

Needless to say, whatever type of fun you’re looking to have out on the water, Sea-Doo’s designs deliver.

Screen Shot 2013-08-13 at 11.13.59 AMThe P1 AquaX series is relatively new to the world of personal watercraft racing but long overdue.  It’s a new style of watercraft competition for sea-riding enthusiasts who want to try watercraft racing but with out having to modify their Sea-Doo watercraft and competing in a relatively safe endurance style event. This weekend marks the third round of the US AquaX series taking place in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Powerboat P1 is the company behind the AquaX series. The company has a rich history in promoting powerboat racing, which includes hosting over 85 world championship events in their 9 years of business. After acquiring the rights to the successful Formula Four-Stroke championships in 2009, they turned their attentions to building a low cost, powerboat racing series powered by Evinrude starting in the UK. By 2010, the series was rebranded to P1 Superstock and they launched the ‘Grand Prix of the Sea’, a festival of watersports touring high profile venues across the country.

Screen Shot 2013-08-13 at 11.15.26 AMAquaX take its place alongside the Superstock boat series on the itinerary of events in what veteran watercraft racers are saying is the most professionally organized racing today. And as with SuperStock, P1’s interest in watercraft competition is based on building a sport from the ground up, hence AquaX is unlike any watercraft competition that’s gone before and is specifically geared towards attracting amateur riders to come along and have a go! And who knows, you just might become the next AquaX champion!

Whatever your Sea-Doo watercraft there’s a class for everyone

 So what’s it all about?
Sea-Doo Racers prepare for the Lake Okeechobee Aqua X Race

Sea-Doo Racers prepare for the Lake Okeechobee Aqua X Race

AquaX is an exciting coastal challenge that offers a completely new experience for personal watercraft enthusiasts. Unlike other watercraft competition where the majority of racing takes place inland and usually on technical tracks, AquaX events take place on the sea and large bodies of water. And because of the ever-changing coastal conditions, the rider’s skill prevails over horsepower, thus creating a level playing field for all.

The courses are big, but fun to ride, giving the competitors the chance to open up their throttles and enjoy the full performance of their craft in a safe and controlled environment. The courses also provide a real sense of achievement for those who complete the task.

The championship is made up of a series of events where competitors earn points towards overall championship titles. Competitors must take part in practice plus two races over the course of each event. The races take place on the Superstock boat courses, which are approximately 1.8nm long, and 30 – 40 minutes plus 1 lap in duration. No need to worry about getting lost, as the tracks are monitored by a highly trained crew of waterborne marshals ensuring everyone’s safety is paramount.

Screen Shot 2013-08-13 at 11.15.42 AMAquaX split into 3 categories – 200hp – where the Sea-Doo GTI SE 155 and GTX 155 are the preferred models -250hp – where the Sea-Doo GTR 215 and GTX 215 fair well and 300hp that feature the Sea-Doo RXT-X aS 260, Sea-Doo RXT-X, and Sea-Doo RXP-X – to accommodate huge diversity in engine displacements. Two-Stroke craft and naturally aspirated four-stroke craft under 180hp will qualify to compete in the 200hp, whereas the 250hp & 300hp classes will be reserved for the more powerful supercharged four-strokes of today. Craft may be modified, however four-stroke craft must remain stock as from the manufacturer, with the exception of handling modifications. Full details of the technical rules can be found in the AquaX rulebook available to download at AquaX Rule Book

BRP’s award winning Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 leads the strongest high-performance line-up in watercraft history. BRP invented the performance watercraft in 1991 and has led the industry in this segment ever since. The 2013 Sea-Doo high-performance family includes five models led by the RXP-X 260, the decorated, world championship-winning model that changed the definition of watercraft in this segment. The RXP-X 260 offers a T3 hull and Ergolock system, empowering riders to ride like pros with less effort. This high-performance family includes the Sea-Doo RXP-X 260, RXT-X aS 260, RXT-X 260, RXT 260 and the popular GTR 215.

2013 Sea-Doo RXP-X 260

BRP’s Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 became the new standard in the high-performance arena by winning the IJSBA Pro Open & GP racing World Championships, and the European tour Pro Stock and GP Championships. The RXP-X is also the recipient of the prestigious National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award, the Red Dot Design Award, and was named 2012 “PWC of the Year” by PWCToday.com.

The 2013 RXP-X 260 enters its second year of setting new performance standards with an ominous visual appeal, ingenious hull design and reinvented ergonomics that allows riders to realize 100% of their riding potential. The T3 hull design allows the RXP-X 260 to aggressively lean into corners and penetrate chop better than any of its two-seater counterparts. T3 stands for “tight-turning t-hull” and uses an advanced, dual surface hull design with a unique combination of soft and hard chines, dual axis adjustable rear sponsons and performance trim tabs. This allows the rider to turn tighter and faster, leaving the competition green with envy.

The revolutionary Ergolock system integrates a narrowing, body-molded racing seat, Adjustable Ergonomic Steering (A.E.S.) system and angled footwell wedges, all complementing the aggressive, lean-in characteristics. With the A.E.S. system, the rider can adjust the handlebar width and grip angle for a perfect upper body connection. The unique RXP-X 260 seat form-fits the rider’s lower body, alleviating upper body strain in hard turns, connecting the rider to the machine, and ultimately the water, better than any other two-seater. Following the dominating World Championship-winning performance of Sea-Doo X-TEAM rider, James Bushell, aboard the T3 hull, the racing community has turned to the RXP-X 260 as the new standard on race-circuits worldwide. With over a year of aftermarket performance parts development, the RXP-X 260 can be customized to fit any enthusiasts’ desires. BRP’s Intelligent Brake and Reverse (iBR) and Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC) systems make the 2013 RXP-X 260 the most feature and technology rich two-seater in high-performance watercraft history.

2013 Sea-Doo RXT-X aS 260

The Sea-Doo RXT-X aS 260 features a high output, supercharged Rotax 4-TEC engine with intercooler and race-inspired features, making this open water runner the ultimate offshore watercraft. The RXT-X 260 watercraft is equipped with standard race specific features including: steering system with A.E.S grip, groove seat, digital infocenter with integrated lap timer and boost indicator, X-Series traction mats, and high-performance variable trim system (VTS). It also features iBR and iTC systems with ECO mode and quick-set Sport/Touring modes.

2013 Sea-Doo GTR 215

BRP’s 2013 Sea-Doo GTR 215 is based on the playful yet predictable handling of the GTI platform while offering more power from its supercharged Rotax 4-TEC marine engine. The GTR 215 carries the Sea-Doo performance heritage with strong acceleration and handling prowess. It’s easily tunable with aftermarket accessories. The GTR 215 is also fully equipped with the Sea-Doo iControl technologies including iTC and award-winning iBR system, allowing the rider to stop up to 100 feet sooner than any other watercraft*. The Sea-Doo GTR 215 features: integrated infocenter, high-performance VTS, 116 liters (30.5 US gallons) of storage and grip and groove seat.

The 2013 Sea-Doo performance family includes the right model for every high-performance enthusiast. IJSBA racers worldwide have made the Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 the new standard in closed course racing, led by World Champions James Bushell (UK) and Chris MacClugage (USA). The Sea-Doo RXT 260 platform is the offshore World Championship watercraft of France’s Cyrille Lemoine, and the Sea-Doo GTR 215 is the ideal combination of playfulness and performance for racers worldwide. High-performance enthusiasts turn to Sea-Doo for a pro-caliber, world championship worthy watercraft to dominate their local waters.

CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF THE MODERN SEA-DOO, A VIDEO HISTORY

In 1988 two young men brought to market a product they knew in their hearts would create an entirely new product segment that would change the recreational products industry forever. These two men were the sons of two men who attempted to do the same thing 20-years prior, but proved to be ahead of their time. In 1988 it was the right time for Pierre Beaudoin (who is now CEO of Bombardier Inc. and son of Bombardier and BRP chairmen of the board, Laurant Beaudoin) and Denys LaPointe (who is now Vice President of BRP product design and innovation and son of Sam LaPointe) to launch the modern Sea-Doo watercraft.

Pierre Beaudoin with the first modern Sea-
Doo watercraft coming off of the Valcourt, Quebec production line.

The 1988 Sea-Doo 5801 model changed what a watercraft was and could do. It was the first two-passenger watercraft with a V-Hull (thus the V-Shape of the logo between the ‘A’ and the ‘D’) rotary-valve engine producing a class leading 55 hp, and capable of cutting through chop and physically capable of pulling a skier (legally, you must now utilize a three-seaters to tow). The 1988 Sea-Doo gave birth to an industry with huge potential and gave Ski-Doo snowmobile dealers a product to market when it wasn’t snowing.

A lot has changed over the past 25 years for the modern Sea-Doo watercraft with technological advances outpacing nearly every other motorized product in the world.  As a result of these advances and focus on on-water performance, fun, and safety, well over 1.2 million people have bought and enjoyed Sea-Doo watercraft with their families and friends.  BRP has been the market share leader in the watercraft industry for 19 of those 26 years and this stems from the passion Bombardier and now BRP puts into every product. Jose Boisjoli (the current President and CEO of BRP) leads the company with the mantra, “product is king” and no where has that proven more true than with the modern Sea-Doo watercraft.

We take a look back over some of the milestone Sea-Doo watercraft models, innovations, awards, accomplishments and fun over the past 25 years. The Sea-Doo brand story is one of historical magnitude in the power sports and marine industries as very few brands have dominating an industry the way the Sea-Doo brand has led the personal watercraft industry.

BRP supports the watercraft racing community more than any other manufacturer through the Sea-Doo x-TEAM Bounty racer contingency program and Promoter support program.  Every year BRP selects the top Sea-Doo watercraft racers to compete in a special invitational event at the World Finals. These 10 racers are given the chance to post their fastest single lap on the same production Sea-Doo X-series watercraft. The top three advance to the Sunday final to post their fastest lap in front of the Pro day crowd.

Chris MacClugage was the top qualifier and although James Bushell bested him in the final it is always fun to watch one of the best riders in the world put together a perfect lap. Note MacClugages throttle finger, on the Sea-Doo RXP-X he is able to utilize the full 260 hp all the way around the track.

NOTE: Chris MacClugage is a professional rider and this video was filmed on a closed course. Do not attempt if this is over you riding ability and always wear protective riding gear.

SEA-DOO X-TEAM TUESDAY – February 14, 2012

Chris MacClugage aboard his Monster Energy/MACC Racing Sea-Doo RXP-X 260

BIO
NAME:       Chris MacClugage
SPORT:     PWC Racing
AGE:          37 years old
PORT:       Lake Havasu City, Arizona
FAMILY:    Married (Rachel) Son (Mac 2-months)

Chris MacClugage is the man. He has raced it all. He has won it all, 15 Championships in fact. In the world of personal watercraft racing, he has done it all…almost.

MacClugage is arguably (but not much argument) the best PWC racer of all time. He began his racing career in Naples, Florida at the ripe age of 1X earning him the early nick-name “The Kid” from older competitors. Since those days of the late ’80s he has raced every year since and in every Pro class (Ski, Sport, and Runabout), and won major championships in all of them. MacClugage has raced all over the world and won, known for his hard charging, never take the easy route, high-flying, WOT style he embodies high-performance on the water.

MacClugage has done stunt work viewed by …maybe…billions of television viewers too. He was featured in a show called Stunt Junkies where he jumped a stand-up PWC over three big house boats near the London Bridge in his new hometown of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and yes, he did clear them all.  MacClugage has also appeared in many commercials over the years with his most resent as the PWC flipping Yo Gabba Gabba sock monkey  in the Kia Sorrento Superbowl commercial.

Chris MacClugage has done a lot in his modest 3X years but there is still something he hasn’t done. . .

MacClugage has raced for the second and third largest PWC manufacturers multiple times and was paid handsomely to do so. He has worked with the best mechanics and PWC minds in the business and is one of those special athletes who can take a sub par machine and ride it to the podium on sheer will. Success has followed him off of the track as he has always been smart with his money and never took it for granted.

Chris and Rachel MacClugage

He is living comfortably with his wife Rachel another Pro World Championship racer in her own right and their new born son Mac.  His years of learning many aspects of the PWC business also helped him spawn MACC Racing, a high-performance PWC shop that builds aftermarket performance parts for enthusiasts all over the world. The MACC RACING tag line is “Faster than Factory” and that brings him to where he is in his life today.

So what hasn’t Chris MacClugage done? He hasn’t taken the easy route, until now. For the first time in his life MacClugage will compete on Sea-Doo watercraft. MacClugage has gotten to a point in his life where the competitive fires burns strong but he just want’s to win and after taking a test ride on the new Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 last August he knew it was a PWC that suited his style, WOT all the way around the track. Then following James Bushells’ double World Championship winning domination on the new RXP-X’s T3 hull MacClugage knew what he DID NOT want to be racing against.

Welcome to the Sea-Doo Life, Chris. This is his first interview flying under the Sea-Doo X-TEAM flag.

ONBOARD: Chris, where did you grow up and how was your competitive spirit developed?

CMACC: I grew up in Naples , Fl. and started riding PWC at age 11.  My competitive spirit basically came from when I got my first taste of victory at my first race,in Marco Island Florida. That race was in 1987.

ONBOARD: Chris, How were you introduced to watersports?

CMACC: My father introduced me to pwc, through another current X-TEAM rider, Erminio Iantosca. Our families hung out a lot and often had BBQs together on Sundays, at my house in Naples. We were fortunate to be able to live on the water. We water skied and knee boarded, all the time. Erminio’s father brought over a pwc to ride. I rode it and never looked back. My dad ended up buying this one for me. Later that summer we went and watched our first pwc race in Ft Myers Beach. The next year I raced that race!!!!

ONBOARD: Since you began competing what are some of your accolades?

MC: I have be able to do so many thing because of that first ride on a pwc. I have traveled to so many countries and met so many people. I have flown in presidential helicopters in the Philippines, met mayors of different towns. I have been in commercials, movies, TV programs(Baywatch). I met my wife at a race in Portugal. The sport has given me so much more than just multiple titles!!!!

ONBOARD: Chris you are arguably the most accomplished PWC racer of all time, racing on every brand at the highest level…except Sea-Doo. What is it after 25 years that drove you approach BRP about racing aboard Sea-Doo in 2012?

MC: What drove me to Sea Doo, was a change for the better. Sea-Doo is the #1 manufacturer of PWC and I wanted to be associated with a company like that. Its a great relationship for me as well as MACC Racing. Sea Doo is something totally new for me and its refreshing to work with such professionals.

Chris and little Mac

ONBOARD: Chris, you have some accomplishments on PWC away from the race course, can you tell us about those?

MC: My accomplishments away from the track….I have riden 5o ft waves in Hawaii. I have been in multiple commercials, the most recent one was a Kia sock monkey commercial. And of course the birth of my son with Rachel.

ONBOARD: Your accomplishments on the racecourse have opened some doors other high profile events and projects. How did these come about and what are some of the projects you have been a part of?

MC: Commercials, TV shows… and through my sponsor Monster Energy, I was able to participate in the Baja 1000. Monster has also invited me to several of their events , which featured a lot of high profile athletes and celebrities.

ONBOARD: Chris, Where is your favorite PWC race site and why?

MC: My favorite race site would be Oceanside, California. The reason being is that the waves are always great there and I love riding in waves. I also like to race in Japan, not the race site in particular. I just love the food!!!!

ONBOARD: What is it about PWC racing that keeps you coming back?

MC: The competition is what keeps me going! Its also become a way of life and my job. But, its a job I love to do.

ONBOARD: Chris, you have ridden all over the world where is your favorite non-racing, riding location? Where is the one place you have not ridden but always wanted to??

MC: My favorite place to ride would be anywhere that has some tasty waves. I love the ocean and love to ride pwc in it. Australia, Hawaii, Mexico, California, Florida, and the Caribbean are all places I enjoy riding.

ONBOARD: What is or has been YOUR favorite part of being part of the Sea-Doo X-TEAM.

MC: That I am now teammates with Troy Snyder! I’m also happy to a part of something that is very organized and ran professionally. The main reason is knowing that I am riding the new RXP-X that can get me out front, from the start of the race. Now that I have my son Mac and my wife Rachel, getting the hole shot will keep me safer.

ONBOARD: Chris, what are you racing right now and what are looking forward to and who is supporting your 2012 efforts?

MC: I have had great support through out my years and this year is no different. In 2012 I will racing a Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 in closed course races and an Sea-Doo RXT-X in offshore races. I will be promoting and will be supported by; Monster Energy, MACC RACING, BRP/Sea-Doo, RIVA Racing, BRP XPS, HydroTurf, Alpina Watches, JE Pistons, Liquid Militia, and Ryno Power.

BRP thanks Chris MacClugage for his time and dedication to the sport and pursuit of PWC racing glory aboard Sea-Doo for the first time in his storied career. You can follow Chris on his Facebook page.

SEA-DOO X-TEAM TUESDAY – January 24, 2012

BIO
NAME:       Eric Lagopoulos
SPORT:     PWC Racing
AGE:          34 years old
PORT:       Sarasota, Florida
FAMILY:    Single, Empty Nester

Eric Lagopoulos is a veteran PWC racer. The Floridian with Greek and French heritage has been a consistent figure at PWC races in North American as well as internationally for nearly 20 years. He has graced the pages of magazines in action shots and ads for BRP/Sea-Doo, he’s starred in videos but hasn’t hung his helmet on PWC racing alone. Lagopoulos is an active guy, competing in many forms of competition including marathons, celebrity soccer matches, setting world records, and competing in the business world. Lagopoulos is an everyday guy, active guy, who chooses to make his hobby professionally racing Sea-Doo watercraft.

Masterful self-promotion is a skill hard to find among the ego driven PWC racing community…believe it or not, but Lagopoulos has leveraged his on-track success arguably better than any other PWC racer. His ability to interact with fans, sponsors, media, and people in general has opened the doors to unique opportunities few will experience but do exist for those who look for them.

To use a tactic quoted from Sea-Doo PWC racing Legend Chris Fischetti “If you don’t win the race you better win the interview” could be applied to Eric Lagopoulos. Elevating your profile and building a fan base is sometimes the most valuable accomplishment in the long run.

ONBOARD: Eric, where did you grow up and how was your competitive spirit developed?
EL: I grew up in Sarasota, Florida (paradise USA!) My competitive spirit was developed from my dad who was a professional marathon runner. Racing just made sense, I love going fast and I love the water!

ONBOARD: What do you do away from the water to stay on the water? What’s your profession?
EL: I currently own and operate a seafood/steakhouse called The Waterfrontoo. It’s in Nokomis (Sarasota) Florida and I have been there for the last 11 years. It also has an awesome sports bar with 20 tv’s and tons of access to come by Sea-Doo!

ONBOARD: Eric, How were you introduced to water-sports?
EL: When I was kid, I was into all water-sports so naturally I ended up on a 300 cc stand-up and fell in love with riding. Eventually in the early 90’s I bought a Sea-Doo  and that’s all she wrote, I’ve been riding a Sea-Doo ever since!

ONBOARD: Since you began competing what are some of your accolades?
EL:
5X World Champ
7X National Champ
2X Guinness World Record holder
3X Sea-Doo Bounty Invitational Winner

Lagopoulos after his World Record ride on a Sea-Doo RXT iS

ONBOARD: Eric, you have some accomplishments on PWC away from the racecourse, can you tell us about those?
EL: Yes! On November 12, 2009 I was presented the opportunity to break the Guinness Book of World Records for 3 separate distance and speed records. It was an awesome chance to break the records on a Sea-Doo RXT iS and do it for a great cause, The Boomer Esiason foundation for cystic fibrosis. I ended up breaking 2 of the records including most miles on a pwc with 880 miles completed in 17 hours.

Lagopoulos with MLB MVP Jeff Kent

David Zayas and Lagopoulos at Brandi Chastain's Soccer Invitational

In Atlantis with Sea-Doo fanatic and Pro-Bowler Warren Sapp

ONBOARD: Your accomplishments riding Sea-Doo on the racecourse have opened some doors with some celebrity sporting events. How did this come about and what are some of the events you have been a part of?
EL: Riding a Sea-Doo definitely has had its perks. The latest event was being invited to play in Brandi Chastain’s retirement soccer match. It was an awesome event that included a mix of athletes such as Mia Hamm, Brent Jones, and Kristi Leskinen. Celebs that played included Judy Reyes and David Zayas who is on my favorite show “Dexter”!

I was also involved with the “Superstars” a made for TV event shot at Atlantis in the Bahamas that included some celebrities and 5-star athletes such as Lisa Leslie (WNBA), Brody Miller (skier), Terrel Owens(NFL), and Jeff Kent(MLB).

ONBOARD: Eric, Where is your favorite PWC race site?
EL: Pattaya City, Thailand! It’s an exotic paradise with some of the nicest people I have met!

ONBOARD: What is it about PWC racing that keeps you coming back?
EL: I can’t get away from the thrill! I’ve been racing since I was 15 years old and I enjoy today just as much!

ONBOARD: Eric, where is your favorite non-racing, riding location? Or what is your dream ride?
EL: I grew up riding at a spot called Bayside. It’s the northern tip of Longboat Key, Florida. It’s my absolute favorite spot to ride, it has rough water and flat water within seconds of riding. It creates a perfect training location with a perfect backdrop!

ONBOARD: What is or has been YOUR favorite part of being part of the Sea-Doo X-TEAM
EL: The Sea-Doo X-Team Bounty is a unique program that benefits any racer on a Sea-Doo. The program pays riders to get on the podium from novices to top pros. It also has cool incentives like the Sea-Doo Bounty Invitational that happens at the World Finals in Lake Havasu city, Arizona every year. It takes the top money winners for the year and gives them a chance to win an extra bonus check! I’ve been lucky enough to win 3 of them!

ONBOARD: Eric, what are you racing right now and what are looking forward to and who is supporting your 2012 efforts?
EL: I will be racing a 2012 Sea-Doo RXP-X 260on the US National Tour and World Finals with the support of: Sea-Doo, Riva, Pro-Marine, Scott, Relaxzen, HydroTurf, Wamilton’s customs, Team Mean and Roaring Toyz.

BRP thanks Eric Lagopoulos for his time and dedication to the pursuit of PWC racing glory aboard Sea-Doo. You can follow Eric on his Facebook page.
