Kings Cup Pro Run About Open Grand Prix Winners, from Left to Right: (4) Jared Moore, (2) James Bushell, (1) Veerapong Maneechom, (3) Chaowalit Kuajaroon, (5) Aero Aswar

Sea-Doo X-TEAM riders continue to dominate personal watercraft racing with a record setting effort at the recent 2012 PWC KING’S CUP GRAND PRIX in Pattaya City Thailand.  The King’s Cup is the last major PWC race of the year, as the top riders from around the world close out their competitive year following October’s IJSBA World Championship. For the past eight years many of the top riders have converged at the Kings Cup to battle for one last chance at a title during the calendar year.

In the premier Pro Runabout Open class Veerapong Maneechom (Thailand), James Bushell (United Kingdom) and Chaowalit Kuajaroon (Thailand) showed the world once again that it takes the all-new Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 to claim a podium spot this year. James Bushell after winning runabout world titles in both Pro Open and GP tied overall winner Maneechom in points at the end of the weekend, but it came down to a tiebreaker the final moto. Maneechom separated himself from the pack during his final moto victory, and the event ended with Maneechom standing on the winners spot at this years King Cup. Not only did Sea-Doo riders fill the podium, Sea-Doo X-TEAM riders in the Pro Runabout Open class took spots one through seven, and eight of the top ten racers were riding Sea-Doo RXP-X watercraft.

After the dominating performances at the IJSBA World Finals the X-TEAM momentum continues. The fastest riders in the world are choosing to ride Sea-Doo watercraft. These numbers continue to grow since the Sea-Doo RXP-X has arrived on the market; lets take a look…

–       Of the 134 racers in the runabout category at the Kings Cup, 103 of them were riding Sea-Doo watercraft, an impressive 77%.

–       There were 27 podium spots available, 23 of them were claimed by a Sea-Doo.

–       Nine class championships were available, eight of those were won by a racer on a Sea-Doo watercraft.

Pro Am Runabout stock class shared a familiar theme with the Pro Runabout Open class. Once again Sea-Doo took the top three positions with Terra Settura from Thailand taking the top honors. Settura won two of the four motos. Runner up Omude Salee from Cambodia put up a challenge by also winning two motos, but Settura’s combined moto scores bested Salee’s for the 2012 title. Rounding out the podium was Thanaphan Phungjunan from Thailand.

As race season comes to an end and plans are made for 2013, one can’t help but wonder how many racers will be aboard Sea-Doo watercraft next season. Congratulations to all of the new Kings Cup Champions and to all racers who chose Sea-Doo as their watercraft of choice at this years PWC Kings Cup – World Cup Grand Prix

Sea-Doo watercraft provide the ultimate in value and performance and we offer you multiple choices in watercraft design and handling characteristics. One of the primary decisions that you need to make when researching watercraft styles is the type of rider that you are—this will help you determine the segment and style of watercraft that will be ideal for you.

One of the most important decisions is hull design.  Sea-Doo has three different hull styles and each offer riders different ride characteristics.

Are you looking for something playful and nimble that rides on top of the waves or are you looking for a tight turning, aggressive hull that enables you to corner harder and faster and cuts right through the waves?  We offer three hull styles and there is one designed for every type of rider.

Sea-Doo S3 Hull

S3 stands for Stepped, Stable and Strong.  These hulls are made from lightweight material are ribbed and stepped.  This hull style creates a low-pressure zone to reduce drag for nimble handling.  The S3 hull cuts through the water and leans naturally when cornering. The hull is constructed of material that is up to 20% lighter than competitor hulls. The hull design is ideal for those who regularly take extended rides where comfort is important.

The hull characteristics are:

  • •Longer, deeper V hull
  • •Suspension option
  • •3-seater
  • •Tow sports capabilities

Benefits of the S3 hull:

  • •Cuts better through chop
  • •Bridges chop better
  • •More comfort when riding 2- or 3-up
  • •Stable with one, two, and three passengers
  • •Added features for comfort (GTX Platform)
  • •Added race-oriented features (RXT Platform)

Sea-Doo watercraft with S3 hulls are:

  • •GTX 155/215, GTX S 155 and the GTX Limited iS 260
  • •RXT 260, RXT-X 260 and the RXT-X aS 260
  • •WAKE PRO 215
GTI Hull

Sea-Doo GTI Hull

Our GTI hulls are playful, yet stable and predictable and are ideal for riders looking for a stable and forgiving watercraft with versatility in both smooth and moderate water conditions. This hull planes quickly and rides higher on the water surface for a nimble ride. The GTI hull is a bit shorter but wider than the others in the line-up and with multiple passengers has proven to be the most stable in the category

The hull characteristics are:

  • •Flatter V, shorter, lighter hull
  • •Lower center of gravity
  • •3-seater
  • •Tow sports capabilities

Benefits of the GTI hulls are:

  • •More nimble ride
  • •Stable and forgiving
  • •Fuel efficient
  • •Option for added power (GTR 215)

Sea-Doo watercraft with GTI hulls are:

  • •GTS 130
  • •GTI 130, GTI SE 130/155 and the GTI Limited 155
  • •GTR 215
  • •WAKE 155

Sea-Doo T3 Hull

This revolutionary design provides aggressive lean-in turning characteristics and penetrates chop and rough water conditions better than any of its predecessors. T3 stands for Tight-Turning T-hull and uses an advanced dual surface hull design with a unique combination of soft and hard chines that engages the water with a suction force when leaning into a corner. These combined features provide enhanced lean angles which allow the rider to turn tighter and faster. The multiple stages of the T3 hull provide great stability at idle and low speeds, unmatched acceleration and a narrow high speed running surface which delivers a nimble and highly precise driving experience.

This hull design is ideal for enthusiasts looking for the ultimate race-oriented watercraft with maximum carving capability, sped and control in any water conditions.

The hull characteristics are:

  • •Combination of hard and soft chines
  • •T-shape
  • •Ergolock system
  • •2-seater

The benefits of the T3 hull are:

  • •Precise cornering and better lean-in
  • •Good rough water penetration
  • •Less upper body fatigue
  • •Better performance on a buoy course

The only Sea-Doo watercraft with the T3 hulls design is the award-winning RXP-X 260.

Whether you are a recreational rider who loves to spend hours on the water playing and towing friends and family, a speed junkie looking to take tight corners or a rider who craves comfort and endless hours cruising, Sea-Doo has a watercraft for you and your riding style

There is nothing more fun than spending a day or a weekend, out on the water with family and friends.  Hours of laughter, splashing and quality family time.  One of the most important safety items that a boater, or watercraft rider, can have on hand is the correct PFD.  There are numerous types of PFDs and not all PFDs are recommended for every situation.  The North America National Safe Boating Campaign “Wear It” campaign aims to educate boaters on the importance of wearing a PFD.

In 2009, the Coast Guard counted 4,730 accidents that involved 736 deaths, 3,358 injuries and approximately $36 million dollars of damage to property as a result of recreational boating accidents. Of those who drowned, 84 percent were not wearing life jackets.

“The statistics show that no matter where you are boating, being properly prepared and equipped and wearing a life jacket can help save many lives,” Virgil Chambers, executive director of the National Safe Boating Council said. “We want to prove that life jackets not only save lives, but that today’s life jackets are comfortable, stylish and easy to wear,” Boaters need to be and should be properly informed and educated about boating safety and most importantly, remember to ‘Wear It!’”

What type of PDF is appropriate for your boating activities?

IF YOU RIDE ON A PWC OR PARTICIPATE IN TOWED WATER SPORTS:  CHOOSE A FLOTATION AID LIFE JACKET FOR ACTIVITIES THAT INVOLVE FREQUENT WATER ENTRY. RUGGED WITH MULTIPLE BUCKLES DESIGNED FOR HIGHER IMPACT ON WATER. INFLATABLE LIFE JACKETS ARE NOT PERMITTED. MOST STATES REQUIRE PWC RIDERS AND “SKIERS” TO WEAR THEIR LIFE JACKET.

IF YOU CRUISE WITH FRIENDS : CHOOSE A MANUAL OR AUTO-MANUAL INFLATABLE LIFE JACKETS FOR ADULTS ONLY. NOT APPROVED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16, NON-SWIMMERS, PWCS, WHITE WATER PADDLING OR TOWED SPORTS. COMFORTABLE, COMPACT SIZE AND HIGH PERFORMANCE. FLOTATION AID LIFE JACKET APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES.

IF YOU BOAT WITH FAMILY: CHOOSE A FLOTATION AID LIFE JACKET APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES. DESIGNED FOR GENERAL BOATING ON CALM, INLAND WATER, NOT FOR ROUGH WATER. MUST FIT PROPERLY FOR SIZE AND WEIGHT.  COMFORTABLE, MANY STYLES AND SIZES AVAILABLE FOR DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES. INFLATABLE LIFE JACKETS ALSO A GOOD CHOICE.

IF YOU FISH: CHOOSE A MANUAL OR AUTO-MANUAL INFLATABLE LIFE JACKET FOR ADULTS ONLY. FLOTATION AID LIFE JACKET FEATURES POCKETS AND STRAPS FOR SUPPLIES AND TACKLE.  CONSIDER DUAL PURPOSE FLOAT COAT FOR COLD WEATHER AND WATER.

IF YOU PADDLE: CHOOSE A MANUAL OR AUTO-MANUAL INFLATABLE LIFE JACKET FOR ADULTS ONLY. FLOTATION AID LIFE JACKET DESIGNED WITH LARGE ARM OPENINGS FOR EASE OF MOVEMENT WHILE PADDLING.  APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES.

IF YOU HUNT: CHOOSE THIS MANUAL OR AUTO-MANUAL INFLATABLE LIFE JACKET FOR ADULTS ONLY.FLOTATION AID LIFE JACKET WITH CAMO, LARGE ENOUGH TO FIT OVER HEAVY CLOTHES. CONSIDER DUAL PURPOSE FLOAT COAT FOR COLD WEATHER AND WATER.
