2013 Sea-Doo GTI models provide experienced to first-time riders more control with BRP’s exclusive iBR system. It allows effortless, hands-on-the-handlebars maneuvering at docks with more control than any other watercraft. The GTI family conveys BRP’s advanced design philosophies through contemporary flowing facet styling and new colorization. Improved rider ergonomics deliver more comfort in smooth to open waters. The GTI platform also provides a class-leading 30.8 US gallons (116.6 liters) of storage space and best in class fuel economy with BRP’s award winning ECO mode available on all models. ECO mode increases fuel economy by up to 46%, which represents a savings of up to 298 US gallons (1128 liters) after 100 hours of normal operation* so you spend extra time, not extra money, with your family on the water.

The Sea-Doo GTI platform offers a playful, fun-inspired riding experience with a hull that glides on top of the water and also incorporates many ergonomic features designed for greater comfort. BRP’s exclusive inward-angled foot wells keep the rider’s lower legs and feet in-line, reducing ankle fatigue. A plush seat provides a narrow distance between the rider’s knees while sitting or standing and an extended rear platform gives the GTI more space for a quick dip in the water and reboarding.

The 2012 UWP IJSBA National racing tour will visit seven popular PWC venues across the united States this summer with the best PWC racers in North America competing for the prestigious title of National Champion. The start of the 2012 season kicks off the debut of the highly touted new 2012 Sea-Doo RXP-X watercraft with over a half dozen of the top Pro riders making the switch to the new, tight-turning platform with Ergolock system. The season starts at the SuperCup of Watercross in Panama City Beach, Florida, May 19-20.  The stunning white sand and emerald green waters create the perfect backdrop for the opening round of the 2012 race season.

Chris MacClugage begins his 2012 Campaign on a new ride, his MACC Racing/Monster Energy backed Sea-Doo RXP-X.

Professional Sea-Doo watercraft racer and new  Sea-Doo X-Team rider Chris MacClugage  will begin his quest to add to his 15- National and World Titles in both the PRO Stock and PRO OPEN classes aboard his MACC Racing/Monster Energy backed Sea-Doo RXP-X. Perennial challenger and 2012 PRO Stock National Champion Troy Snyder will be campaigning to regain his title back from MacClugage aboard his Neptune Racing built Sea-Doo watercraft with challenge also coming from Sea-Doo X-TEAM Pros Claude Clayton, Brian Baldwin, Chris Heinrich, Brad Bohat, Eric Lagopoulos, and Jeremy Schandlemeyer.

The second BRP supported  event, the US Open of Watercross is scheduled for May 26-17 on the Alabama River in Montgomery, Alabama.  The elevated riverwalk borders the river and creates an excellent venue for watching all of the racing action. And the classic southern city of Montgomery provides the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the many heroes who helped shape our nation.

Racine, Wisconsin hosts the Grand Prix of Watercross on the western shore of Lake Michigan, June 16-17.  This Great Lake is a unique stop on the tour as the lake conditions are constantly changing. The waters can go from smooth glass in the morning to three-foot rollers in the afternoon and back to calm racing conditions by the end of the race all providing both racers and spectators an exciting race!

The complete 2012 UWP IJSBA National Tour schedule:

  • Supercross of Watercross, Panama City Beach, Florida, May 19-20
  • US Open of Watercross, Montgomery, Alabama, May 26-27
  • Grand Prix of Watercross, Racine, Wisconsin, June 16-17

  • Governor’s Cup, Charleston, West Virginia, August 18-19

All competitions sanctioned by the International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA) from Halfmoon Bay, Calif., qualify for the Sea-Doo X-TEAM Bounty Program. BRP continues to lead the industry by supporting PWC racers with the Sea-Doo X-TEAM Bounty, the only racer contingency program in the sport, offering additional funds to racers finishing on the podium* aboard Sea-Doo watercraft. This “open sponsorship” is available to all modern* Sea-Doo watercraft racers rewarding them for top finishes and to help fund their racing efforts.  For 2012 many of the Sea-Doo X-TEAM Bounty payouts have been raised. PWC Tour: North Channel St. Joseph Island – Sault Ste. Marie

Lake Huron’s North Channel runs from Killarney, Ontario in the east to Sault Ste. Marie in the east. St. Joseph Island sits at the western end and Hilton Beach is a great launch and overnight location. From there, we circumvented the island with a detour to the Sault for lunch. The main shipping channels are well marked and it’s neat to ride alongside a massive freighter (going so slow, they put out less wake than a PWC). On the way back from the Sault, be sure to stop into Richard’s Landing for fuel so you can make it all the way around St. Joseph Island. The north side of the water is Canada and south side is United States, so don’t set foot on shore of the country you are not a citizen of without checking into customs & immigration (bring your passport). This ride is a mix of populated and remote areas. Recommended for moderately experienced riders. Carrying extra fuel is a good precaution. Decent cell service in most places. Talk to you next time!
