  • RXP-X model wins premier Pro Open world title for seventh straight year
  • 2018 Sea-Doo RXT-X 300 watercraft generates buzz at public reveal
  • Sea-Doo Bounty Invitational showcases stability and handling of new RXT-X 300

Burbayea claims his first Pro Open championship on his Sea-Doo RXP-X

The Sea-Doo X-TEAM extends the legacy of Sea-Doo watercraft dominance to seven consecutive years in the two premier IJSBA Pro World Championship classes. Kuwait’s Mohammed Burbayea captured his first Pro Open championship aboard his Sea-Doo RXP-X model and Hungary’s György Kasza added to his championships finishing atop the Pro GP class.

Sea-Doo riders added to the podium count with Kasza finishing as the runner up in Pro Open. In Pro GP it was UK’s prolific James Bushell finishing second and Marcus Jorgenson of Denmark completing the X-TEAM podium sweep finishing in third. Kylie Elmers also added another Pro Women’s championship to her resume aboard her Sea-Doo Centre backed RXP-X 300. The event, attended by the top riders in the world, proved the dynasty of performance dominance lives with the Sea-Doo T3 hull equipped watercraft models.

Test Rides on the new, 2018 Sea-Doo RXT-X 300 and GTX Limited.

Ready to carry the X-TEAM winning legacy to endurance racing is the 2018 Sea-Doo RXT-X 300 model with all-new ST3 hull. The new Sea-Doo RXT, GTX, and WAKE PRO watercraft models made their public debut at IJSBA World Finals in Lake Havasu City, AZ where guests were able to test ride the new platform featuring the ST3 hull. Numerous racers and performance enthusiasts said this new platform would be the one to beat in 2018 in part because of its incredible rough water stability and lowered rider center of gravity.

Select X-TEAM racers showcased the performance and specifically the stability and precise handling of the new RXT-X 300 in the Sea-Doo Bounty Invitational event. The Sea-Doo Bounty is a racer contingency program that pays Sea-Doo watercraft racers extra money for top finishes and includes a special World Finals event. Florida’s Erminio Iantosca and Australia’s Gee Greenland competed in the Sea-Doo Bounty ‘Pop Man’ Invitational final where both riders rode the new 2018 Sea-Doo RXT-X 300 model around the World Finals track while having to pop several buoys in attempt to post the fastest one-lap time. Greenland showcased the RXT-X 300 stable and precise handling abilities the best by narrowly edging Iantosca by a mere three tenths of a second to claim the $1000 bonus.

“This sport has given me so much and I want to leave the sport by doing something special for the kids of Atlanta and their families whom are facing incredible health challenges. ” exclaims Farthing. “My wife, whom I met at a race 20-plus years ago, and two sons are the most important part of my life and I feel blessed every day for our health and am challenging myself to race for families struggling to take care of their children and winning on my Sea-Doo watercraft.”

  • RXP-X wins premier Pro Open world title for fifth straight year
  • SPARK wins first World Championship in 1000 Superstock classes
  • 2016 Sea-Doo 300-HP watercraft models generate buzz among crowd

Valcourt, Québec, October 19, 2015 – BRP (TSX:DOO) added a fifth consecutive Pro Open class title to its historic IJSBA World Finals championship count this year. The event, attended by the top riders in the world, helped usher in a new era of performance dominance with 2016 Sea-Doo 300-HP watercraft models.

Kasza wins his first Pro Open World Championship

Kasza György wins his first Pro Open World Championship on his modified Sea-Doo RXP-X.

Much of the buzz entering this year’s IJSBA World Finals in Lake Havasu City, AZ, was the launch of the 2016 Sea-Doo RXP-X 300 and RXT-X 300 models, and how they are poised to be the next dominant models in watercraft racing. After the weeklong event, the buzz became a roar to accompany the roar of the crowd after Hungarian, Kasza György, claimed his first Pro Open World Championship aboard a Sea-Doo RXP-X.

“The entire Sea-Doo team is extremely proud to continue our racing on the RXP-X by taking home the premier Pro Open world title for the fifth straight year,” said Julie Tourville, Global Marketing Director, Sea-Doo watercraft. “We congratulate Kasza György and his team on their win, and we’re excited about the future as the new 300-HP Sea-Doo models make their way to starting lines in 2016.”

The 2016 Sea-Doo RXP-X 300 and RXT-X 300 come equipped with a new ROTAX 1630 ACE engine that is bigger, stronger and more efficient than before. That, together with the new Ergolock system, allows riders to enjoy more performance, confidence and greater control to push limits even further.

A new era in lower horsepower classes has begun as well, as Thailand’s Nopphadon Sapmunsaerr claimed the first Pro-Am Runabout 1000 Superstock title on a modified Sea-Doo SPARK. This is the first world championship for the SPARK, which was introduced in 2015, in a class that has been dominated by late model Sea-Doo SPX models for the past 10+ years.

SEADOO-BOUNTY_bushell-on-rightMulti-time world champion James Bushell won the $1,000 #SeaDooNEXTLEVEL Bounty Invitational in a head-to-head, three-lap race aboard identical 2016 RXT-X 300 models against New Zealand’s Carl Lampe. Bushell, who is from the UK, also finished second in both Pro Open and Pro GP classes on his Sea-Doo RXP-X.

Like a Fish in the Water:
VibeWetsuitWe like to think that Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer, but that doesn’t mean we’re all free from the cold. It’s still a bit chilly out in some of the best riding locations, so you might need something to seal body warmth in and water out! Slip into the Vibe Wetsuit for the perfect amount of warmth and comfort for this time of season. Plus, its innovative mock turtleneck collar design with horizontal opening zipper gives a stylish and distinct look while being practical.
And, let’s not forget that safety is of huge importance. We want to be sure that you continue to have fun all summer long, so suit up with a matching Vibe PFD.

One with the Sun:
SportswearWhen you’re ready to take a break from the water to sit back and enjoy the weather, good vibes, and sunshine, make the most of your time in Sea-Doo gear made just for the occasion.
The Breeze Dress makes for a great swimsuit cover-up with its lightweight material and is perfectly flattering and feminine.
For the Sea-Doo enthusiastic men, show off your X-Team pride and stay beach-day ready with the X-Team cap, Particle Shirt & Cove Boardshorts.

More Fun to Add:
ChillShadeWe’re sure you’ll be spending lots of time in the sun this weekend, and we’re also sure you’ll remember to pack the sunscreen in your Sea-Doo Duffle Bag. But, even if it does slip your mind, the Chill Shade will keep you covered whether you’re on your Sea-Doo SPARK or looking for cover on the beach.

NAME: Paul Green
AGE: 48 years old
PORT: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
FAMILY: Single

Where did you grow up and how was your competitive spirit developed?

Paul – Growing up in Toronto Canada, I spent my childhood summers on Georgian Bay enjoying various watersports and outdoor activities. My father got me into amateur boxing at a young age, which taught me how to be mentally strong and compete

What do you do away from the water to stay on the water? What’s your profession?

Paul – I currently own a private investigation business in Toronto, and I’m a Certified Fraud Examiner CFE.

Being self – employed and having a flexible work schedule, allows me to travel and pursue my racing career. The experience I’ve gained through running my own business, has helped me manage my racing career.

How were you introduced to watersports?

Paul – My first introduction into watersports was waterskiing at our cottage as a child. That would lead to working as a lifeguard and later teaching competitive swimming to youths. My first PWC was a Wet Jet 432 that handled like a tank!

Since you began competing what are some of your accolades?

Paul – My first season competing on a runabout was 2014. I raced the CWA Watercross Tour in the newly formed Runabout Rec Lights Class. I was dominant in the class and won the overall title. I also won the Master Ski Stock overall title.

Picture 1What is it about the Sea-Doo SPARK that enticed you to race this new model?

Paul – Initially, I purchased the SPARK as a fun boat for the weekends. After spending sometime on the boat, I realized the boats potential as a viable race craft. I began working on the machine and started promoting it within the watercraft community. Not long after, SPARKs began showing up at the races and a new class was born.

What kind of support team do you have behind you and what does it entail?

Paul – I am lucky to have Riva Racing, Sea-Doo X-TEAM, and Solas as sponsors. I have been testing with Riva and assisting them in developing new performance products for the SPARK. My girlfriend, Rachel Thomas, has also been instrumental in my success on and off the water. No one wins titles by themselves.

Your accomplishments riding watercraft have opened the doors for other action opportunities. What “extra” perks have you enjoyed from being a pro racer?

Paul – I have traveled extensively with the sport and have enjoyed the experience greatly. This past summer, I had the opportunity to take up wake surfing thanks to my family which is a blast. I also try to attend as many Monster Energy Supercross races as I can each season. Getting the recognition as an X-Team member is a thrill.

Where is your favorite PWC race site?

Paul – I enjoy the Ocean race sites, particularly the Florida stops with the warm water and ever changing surf. Racing surf forces the rider to use all their skills in order to be successful. The Ocean levels out the playing field.

What is it about PWC racing that keeps you coming back?

Paul – I started racing PWC’s in the late 80’s and have enjoyed competing both as a privateer and as a factory backed rider in the 90’s. The thing that keeps me coming back to the sport is the constant innovations to the watercraft. I find the technology fuels my passion and I’m constantly being forced to learn new things. The clean burning 4 strokes of today are superior to the 2 stroke technologies of yesterday.

Where is your favorite non-racing, riding location?

Paul – I really enjoy riding in South Florida and the Florida Keys. The natural beauty of the area can’t be beat. Surf riding at the Sebastian Inlet in Florida is always eventful too! Watching Dolphins and Sharks share the water as you ride is an awesome sight to see.

What is or has been YOUR favorite part of being part of the Sea-Doo X-TEAM

Paul – My favorite part of being on the Sea-Doo X-Team is being part of a professional group of racers who have similar focus and goals. The comradery and friendships formed are the best part of the team. The opportunity to showcase my riding skills with other high level athletes is great.

Picture 9What are you racing right now and what are looking forward to, and who is supporting your 2015 efforts?

Paul – I plan to ride a 2015 Sea-Doo SPARK and defend my CWA title in the Runabout Rec Lights class. I’m also exploring the possibility of racing a Sea-Doo RXP-X in the Pro Am Runabout Stock class. Riva Racing, Sea-Doo and Solas will be my key sponsors for 2015. I’m looking forward to continued success in 2015 aboard Sea-Doo watercraft!

BRP thanks Paul Green for his time and dedication to the pursuit of PWC racing glory aboard Sea-Doo. You can follow Paul; on his Facebook page, www.facebook.com/paul.green.10004

James Bushell

James Bushell

Valcourt, QC, CANADA– December 9, 2014 – BRP closes the 2014 watercraft racing season with a dominating performance at the recent King’s Cup with Sea-Doo watercraft riders winning six of the seven runabout championships featuring modern four-stroke models. Sea-Doo racers from around the world congregated in Thailand to compete in the last high-profile race of the year and did so in true X-TEAM manner. Of the 21 available podium positions in the modern watercraft classes, Sea-Doo riders filled 16 of them.

Pro Open Champion - James Bushell

Pro Open Champion – James Bushell

Current world champion James Bushell added the King’s Cup Pro Open championship to his already stellar list of accolades aboard the Sea-Doo RXP-X. Bushell lead the charge with a dominating performance on his 158-Performance backed Sea-Doo RXP-X in the Pro Open class. Bushell has claimed seven World Championships in the past four years aboard an RXP-X T3 hull equipped watercraft and continued that momentum at this year’s King’s Cup. Bushell has relied on the tight turning and true tracking of the T3 hull and staying connected to the 400+ horsepower produced by his modified, turbo powered Rotax 4-TEC engine tuned by the Sea-Doo Centre.
